The Politics of architecture: the relationships between people and how they decide to change their conditions of living

Although within society we are constantly try to improve the equality of female to male standing within society I am extremely surprised that the first female president of RIBA was in 2009. Yet the first female prime minister (Margret Thatcher) was in 1979. This 30 years difference is appalling and extreme changes need to be made.

As a woman myself I believe that change needs to be made at a much faster rate and that we need to be considered further within the architecturally community. Zaha Hadid as an inspiration of mine I can perceive how much change a woman can make architecturally and aspire to design such beautiful structures as her.

A beautiful interview with Zaha Hadid:

The configuration between Scotland's and England's seating in Parliament is extremely interesting as the Scottish curvature seating wise gives this sense if togetherness in comparisons to England's obvious division. It is also interesting to observe the architectural responses to politics with places like Malaysia increasing in extremities Architecturally to prove its development.

Finally, the homeless aren't considered enough!

There seems to be a lack of architecture for the homeless in present day due to the increase in average home prices, unfortunate just increasing the homelessness rates. Anti homeless/ hostile  architecture stops those less fortunate from having a stable environment to live in, they can't have anywhere comfortable to sleep under or on because they are pushed out of sight. This isn't only irrational but morally abhorrent doesn't solve the socio-economic roots of the problem. One of the only ways to improve this on resilience design terms is through activism. Some examples being the AFC and the architecture San fontières.
